“It is not always easy to make changes, but there’s no better advice than this; just do your best. Make sure you stay strong enough to move ahead, because there are some wonderful rewards waiting for you. Believe in happy endings because you are the author of the story of your life”.

In the summer of 2018, I had the pleasure of being one of several ladies to attend a Women’s Retreat that was organized by Aurilia Grimes. The retreat was in Blue Ridge, Georgia which is home to a portion of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The scenery was beautiful. But what was even more beautiful, was the awesome experience of the retreat itself. It was an awe-inspiring time of self-care. A time of shutting out the circumstances and the situations that we left at home and basking in the presence of God. It was a time of sharing, journaling, and enjoying the fellowship of Sisterhood. I returned home feeling refreshed and ready to move forward in life. The four days of self-care proved to be greatly beneficial, and necessary. I will forever be grateful that I took that step to enhance my own well-being, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
As a member of the Teen Girl abstinence Program for four years, I am incredibly grateful to be a part of it. I know that a lot of mothers did not have the opportunity for programs like these, but I am glad that I am getting a chance. This program is something that is not only having a great impact on my life, but on my family and friends. The Teen Girl Abstinence Program has tremendously opened my eyes about different aids HIV’s. If this program would not have been offered to me and a lot of other teens, the truth about sex would not be told. Not only has it taught me about sex, but also other thing, and at can help me as a teen now, and a woman in the future. Some of the topics are Personal Hygiene, Date Rape, and Etiquette. They have also taught us many characteristics of boys. I am very thankful that God placed this program on Pastor and Sister Grimes heart for the children today. We really need some sort of guidance, especially with sex. A lot of the parents’ care, and some don’t/ My parents have been a great inspiration and are supporting me 110%. I know they have no doubts about me. I am only fourteen and some of my friends are already having sex and some are now mothers. I am proud to stand and make a difference so that younger and older girls will see that abstinence is the way success and a better life.
